A special feature of trehalose was aired on
NHK’s international program NHK WORLD ‘CATCH JAPAN’

Hayashibara’s trehalose was featured in the program called CATCH JAPAN of NHK WORLD, the international service of Japan’s public media organization NHK, on November 26 2021.
Trehalose was introduced as one of the key ingredients to solving the worldwide problem of food waste. Not only its actions to prevent food deterioration and improve freezing tolerance, but it explains that trehalose is now being used for agricultural field and it is promising to bring new possibilities to our lives.

CATCH JAPAN is a 30-minute program broadcast for international viewers on the fourth Friday of every month which highlights the modern Japan’s popular topics, including food, technology, ecology and regional promotions. It is broadcasted on cable TV, internet TV, and terrestrial digital, available in 323.71 million households in 160 countries and regions, in major cities in Japan and overseas.
